In this two-day class, students will learn to understand and support sexual function over the life span, including developing strategies for understanding and treating a broad variety of sexual dysfunctions. Understanding how multiple body systems work together to result in sexual function provides a necessary foundation for working effectively with sexual challenges. Because every case is unique in its presentation, becoming a sexual problem-solver requires a deep multi-systemic understanding of not just dysfunction, but also function. Through this lens, participants will gain a rich understanding of multiple strategies for treating sexual dysfunction from a multi-factorial perspective.

Goals:

1) participants will be able to describe examples of sexual, physical, emotional, and relational factors as they relate to sexual concerns

2) participants will be able to name at least 4 body systems involved in sexual function

3) participants will be able to list at least 2 non-pharmacologic and 2 pharmacologic treatments for ED

4) participants will be able to describe the connection between anxiety and the physiology of sexual function
