This group is designed for practicing mental health professionals with a current caseload, to expand their knowledge base and clinical skills when working with individuals and partners around the topic of sexuality. The format will be didactic, interactive, and involve group discussion. Dr. Sheila Silver will teach on a topic relating to clinical sexology for the first 15-20 minutes, and then open it up for general questions and consultation of current cases related to sexuality. The intention will be to create a safe and confidential environment. Didactic topics will include pornography, sexual compulsivity, low desire, arousal, alternative relationships styles, and orgasm challenges. Clinicians will learn skills for how to assess, collaborate, discuss and evaluate with regard to human sexuality concerns.
You must be a mental health clinician who is currently in practice with a caseload to discuss in order to register.
This sex therapy training group does not count toward AASECT Sex Therapy Supervision. The AASECT CE's it offers are in Sex Therapy Training Areas A, C, E, and G.
This program meets the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 8 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT Certification and renewal of certification. Institute for Sexuality Education & Enlightenment, Provider #11-113-C.
